At Lead International School, we believe that every story a child reads is a brick in the foundation of their character. Our recent Book Character Day 2026 was not just a day of costumes and prizes; it was a vibrant celebration of how our students are learning to navigate the world with curiosity, empathy, and innovation.
Our Library Director, Dr Maya, hosted a wonderful series of ceremonies to honour the students who brought their favourite books to life. Whether through a handwritten postcard or a digital travel brochure, each participant reminded us why the Deep Learning 6Cs—Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking—are at the heart of everything we do.
From Traditional Tales to Digital Worlds

Literacy at LSL is an evolving journey. This year, our younger learners practised the art of Communication by writing “Postcards for a Story,” sharing their favourite literary moments with friends. It was a heart-warming reminder of how stories build community and connection from a young age.
In our Secondary School, students took a bold step into the future by using AI tools to create travel brochures for fictional worlds. This blend of literature and technology required immense Critical Thinking and Creativity, showing that our students are not just readers, but innovators ready for a digital future.
Honouring Our Creative Achievers
We were delighted to have Dr Ding Eng Na join us to present awards to our students. These prizes, including book vouchers from Lee Book Readers and BookXcess, recognise the hard work and imagination our students poured into their projects.

A Community Focused on Growth
One of the most inspiring sights was seeing our students embrace Citizenship by using recycled materials for their costumes. It is this spirit of responsibility and ingenuity that makes the LSL community so special. We are incredibly proud of every student who participated, and we thank our teachers and parents for supporting this journey of discovery.
