Once a year, our campus is transformed into a vibrant world of literature. Students and teachers arrive dressed as their favourite book characters, creating a colourful celebration of reading, imagination, and community spirit.
Sustainable Creativity in Action What makes our Book Character Day truly special is the eco-friendly challenge. Costumes are crafted entirely from recycled materials such as cardboard, paper, and plastic. Giving everyday items a second life allows our students to:
- Share the inspiration behind the characters they have chosen
- Exercise resourcefulness by turning simple materials into detailed outfits
- Demonstrate environmental responsibility through sustainable crafting
A Global School Reading Programme
Book Character Day is the grand finale of weeks dedicated to literary discovery. Leading up to the showcase, students participate in book fairs, creative competitions, and storytelling sessions.
A key highlight of this year’s reading programme was connecting with international storytellers from Finland, Croatia, and Indonesia. Listening to stories from across the globe allowed our students to experience diverse cultures, voices, and traditions, reinforcing that stories bring communities together regardless of distance.
